Forever Lazy

Standard

There’s rarely a day that Wal-Mart brings me joy.  Probably never actually…until today.  Are you kidding me?  Look at this guy…in our Wal-Mart…tonight.  And to top it off…”Forever Lazy” FINALLY hit the shelves.  Thank you!  Sbout time.  We hit up some Taco Bell on the way home.  Cinnamon twists are enough to bring me joy in one day, to eat them to the song “Ain’t No Woman Like the One I Got” blaring over the speakers…Ahhhhhh. Bliss with a smile!

I don’t have children.  I have Winston.  He brings me joy.  Especially when I get home.  His torpedo tail wagging a bazillion times a minute, makes me smile.  He makes me rub his belly.  Literally…with his paw.  He squeaks his toy relentlessly until I play with him.  He cuddles with me while I work at home.  How can you not like this guy?

FYI…the two “shaggy” shots were actually taken a couple of weeks ago when he was cooperating!  The rest were taken with my camera phone today…sorry for his freaky eyes!

Back.To.School.

Today I went back to work after the Thanksgiving break.  I think no matter what profession, it’s hard to go back to work.  I felt like I needed one or maybe 3 more days to fully recoup.  🙂  But when I got to school and greeted my students at the door to our classroom they enthusiastically gave me big hugs and a few said they ‘really missed me!’  Then at recess they made me these.  Joy!

The Feeling.

Standard

You all know the feeling.  After a holiday when your house is clean and laundry’s cookin’ in the washer.  When a 3 hour nap is had over NFL football.  The joy of knowing that your family is awesome despite not being accustomed to the noise of a large family…or the constant cycle of cooking and cleaning in the kitchen…or all the loveliness that accompanies hosting a major holiday.  But I know one thing.  I love my family and all of our idiosyncrasies.  It may be stressful, it may be noisy, it may take loads of energy, but that’s what days like today are for.  To rejuvenate after a lovely holiday by watching the pha-nah-mi-nal Kansas sunset with Jason and Win. after a 3 hour nap, waking up to our Christmas tree and leftova turkey.  Joy!
