Isn’t This the Truth.

Standard

I have felt the joy today.  So many are still concerned and asking about my bronchitis.  I am thankful I have people that care enough to ask.  I randomly received two KSU basketball tickets to the game tomorrow from one of my student’s parents.  I am thankful that they thought of Jason and me.  I was able to spend a few, uninterrupted hours of chatting with my two fav. gals.  I am so thankful for their friendship.  We had a lot to talk about!  And now I’m spending a relaxing evening with my two loves, Jason and Win.  Heading to bed soon!

This video speaks to me and I thought it was a great reminder!

A.Look.Back.

Standard

2011 has been a great year.  A look back.

  • This was the first year in the last many that Jason, Winston, and I spent completely together.  I am thankful for nothing more than this.  It’s been wonderful.
  • We both have great jobs.  Many cannot say this and we are thankful.
  • I spent my first summer vacation as a teacher.  I can’t wait for the next 29!
  • My 2nd year is half-way done.  Learning more each day.
  • We bought our dream home.  I still wake up every day and can’t believe it.  I can’t wait to fill it up!
  • We hosted our first major holiday.  Crazy and awesome.
  • I found a love of nature, especially birds.  It has changed my life.
  • I began to find Joy every single day.  It’s amazing how much there is when you stop and pay attention.

There has been so many memories.  I have big plans for 2012.  Happy New Year.

Enjoy a blitz from 2011.

Lettas

My teaching pahtna, Mrs. G. is doing a unit on writing letters preparing our 2nd graders to write their letter to Santa.  Second graders are 7 and 8 years old.  They still have a hard time controlling their bodies, voices, and emotions.  Some days I feel like that old batty teacher that smacks her ruler on children’s desks.  I said feel people…feel.  It ALWAYS amazes me what 2nd graders can do.  Like these letters.  I think they speak for themselves.  Priceless…lovable…thankful for my wonderful job.

Geese.

Standard

Today was busy.  I was exhausted after work and sat down to check my Facebook, because that always cures the soul… when I heard the beautiful sound of geese flying south.  I ran outside with my camera and grabbed a coup. of lame shots.  The pictures do no justice.  But while I was out there, I noticed the sunset and the muskrats in the pond.  Again, breathtaking.  I am thankful today for this blog.  Had I not been cognisant of things I am thankful for…I would have not been paying attention or just too lazy to get up.  The sunset… Double Bonus!

A Joyful Existence!

Standard

I have a friend that I met in the Army.  She was one of those people who you meet and feel like you’ve known for your lifetime.  I haven’t seen her in years and miss her often.  She is wise beyond her years and her wit is awesome.  Even though miles separate our friendship and time gets in the way, she still makes me laugh and think deeply about my life.  It is because of her that I am starting this blog.  She took a minute out of each day to stop and appreciate an Ordinary Instant by taking a picture and posting it everyday.  So I am going to do the same.  I will take a minute, everyday, to stop and appreciate my Joyful Existence and share it with you beginning this Thanksgiving.  I will share things I’m thankful for, things I love, things I think are beautiful, special, and worthy of a minute.  I am blessed!
